About The Position

This position works under general direction and requires thorough knowledge of behavioral healthcare theories, interventions, and evaluation techniques. As a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, the supervisor is responsible for the development and implementation of mental health interventions (e.g., psychological, social) for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders. They develop specialized treatment plans and programs, and intervention methods used by treatment teams to treat patients. The supervisor also oversees, evaluates, and trains social workers and/or counselors, assigns caseloads, and oversees their treatment activities. They complete mental health risk assessments, including suicide watch assessments within their scope of practice and for Non-Independently Licensed Mental Health Professionals, directed by and in consultation with an Independently Licensed Mental Health Professional. Additionally, they provide social psychological services to patients, including advanced practice individual and group therapy, diagnostic evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and suicide prevention interventions. Documentation is completed in the Electronic Health Care Record. The role involves participation in and/or responsibility for the mental health services quality assurance program, initiating and maintaining contact with families and community agencies, providing and seeking information relative to patient care and treatment, and making appropriate community referrals. Personnel management tasks, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring recommendations, are also part of the role. The supervisor must comply with all facility and DRC rules, policies, and procedures, maintain necessary data documents, and establish and maintain working relationships with other facilities and agencies. They will also conduct in-service training, participate in continuing education programs, and attend conferences, workshops, and meetings as directed.

Requirements

• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Thorough knowledge of behavioral healthcare theories, interventions, and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to complete mental health risk assessments inclusive of suicide watch assessments within their scope of practice and for Non-Independently Licensed Mental Health Professionals directed by and in consultation with an Independently Licensed Mental Health Professional.
• Ability to document evaluations, assessments, and interventions in the Electronic Health Care Record.
• Ability to comply with all facility and DRC rules, policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain necessary data documents required by DRC.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with other facilities and agencies.
