About The Position

The Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 delivers clinical behavioral health services within their scope of practice, including psychosocial interventions, counseling, assessments, and treatment planning for individuals and families. The position participates in treatment team processes, develops intervention goals, evaluates client progress, prepares required clinical documentation, and supports program development. This role also assists with staff training, interagency coordination, and activities related to guardianship and client rights.

Requirements

• Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor’sCredentialing Board.
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychosocial interventions and provides individual, family, or group counseling within scope of practice.
• Develops intervention goals and objectives to support education, treatment, and improved client functioning.
• Assesses clients to determine appropriate intervention strategies and monitors client responses to treatment.
• Evaluates cases assigned to lower‑level behavioral healthcare providers and reviews client progress.
• Performs interviews with clients and families to establish case goals and treatment needs.
• Provides therapeutic support, clinical guidance, and follow‑up services as required.
• Participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives.
• Serves on interdisciplinary treatment teams and program development committees.
• Provides feedback to improve treatment effectiveness and participates in case consultations.
• Maintains accurate documentation to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
• Prepares social histories, admission and aftercare summaries, court reports, and legally required forms.
• Ensures documentation meets departmental standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Attends training sessions, internal meetings, and court hearings as needed.
• Coordinates with other facilities, agencies, and support services to manage referrals and follow‑up care.
• Assists families, individuals, and agencies with guardianship‑related issues.
• Provides client education on voting and facilitates related processes.
• Assists with training and development activities for behavioral health staff.
• Provides guidance and support to enhance effective service delivery and treatment practices.
