About The Position

We are in search of a Behavioral Healthcare Associate Attorney/Attorney with expertise and confidence in Litigation! Join our growing law firm in Boca Raton, FL., where we specialize in Behavioral Health - particularly the Marchman Act and Guardianship. Compensation: base pay + additional annual incentives. We require the first 30 days to be in-office for proper onboarding; after that, we do allow for remote/hybrid work.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Florida.
  • 5+ years of experience in Litigation.
  • Proven courtroom experience.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Guardianship, Marchman Act, and/or Behavioral Health Law experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal representation to clients in matters related to the Marchman Act & Guardianship.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each case.
  • Prepare and file necessary legal documents, petitions, and motions.
  • Attend court hearings and proceedings on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare clients for court hearings.
  • Present compelling arguments and evidence to support client cases.
  • Engage in negotiations and settlements when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients.
  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, legal professionals, and staff within the firm.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, including social workers, medical professionals, and court officials.
  • Ensure all legal activities and processes comply with relevant laws and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and case law related to guardianship and behavioral health.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients and the firm as needed.
  • Stay informed about developments in guardianship and behavioral health law.
