The main duty of a Behavioral Health Therapist is to provide competent, patient-centered, best-practice and evidence-based behavioral health and wellness services under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness. The primary purpose of this position is to enhance the Clinic’s capacity to provide psychotherapy including individual, couple, and family services in the clinic that are high quality and patient centered. To this end, the Therapist will conduct intake, assessment, treatment planning and therapy throughout the care and discharge processes, including follow-up care. However, the Therapist is also expected to participate in the delivery of other behavioral health and wellness services that are guided by educational, psycho-educational, and psychotherapeutic perspectives and at various levels of practice. Furthermore, the Therapist must have an appreciation for the “business behind the business” and be willing to engage in various administrative tasks and duties that support and enhance departmental functioning. The Therapist is responsible for service delivery, quality and integration of behavioral health and wellness services into Vivent Health.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Hold current status as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Provisional Marital and Family Therapist (PLMFT), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or be in the process of completing licensure requirements as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW within the state of practice. Clinical supervision will be provided.
  • Experience in providing behavioral health and wellness services, including mental health and substance abuse services.
  • Experience with in-person, video-based, and telephone-based therapy.
  • Knowledge and skills in behavioral health and wellness programming for mental health and substance abuse services.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • Experience treating co-occurring disorders.
  • Understanding of various best-practices and evidence-based practices in behavioral health and wellness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and accountability.
  • Team-oriented mindset, valuing diversity and providing equitable treatment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Spanish language (bilingual).

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Federal, State, and local regulations, ensuring compliance with all Vivent Health service delivery standards, including the Vivent Health Care Corporate Compliance Standards of Conduct and Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Provide a variety of behavioral health and wellness services, focusing on individual, couple, and family psychotherapy. Participate in on-call/after-hours care as needed, and pursue additional training, certification, and licensure as required.
  • Engage in administrative tasks related to behavioral health and wellness services, including program and policy development, marketing, research activities, and assisting with financial/billing tasks for patient care.
  • Stay updated on developments in the treatment of HIV and mental health/substance use conditions.
  • Ensure quality assessments and accurate diagnoses for all clinic mental health patients, including initial screening and appropriate referral for substance use disorders, facilitating admissions to treatment facilities, and providing follow-up interventions as necessary.
  • Prepare, formulate, and evaluate treatment plans for each patient based on assessment and diagnosis, focusing on improving overall quality of life.
  • Manage treatment plans in consultation with appropriate persons and service providers.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and their collateral contacts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports, correspondence, and patient record documentation. Ensure all necessary information, documents, and evaluations are in the official case record.
  • Maintain regular communication with emerging specialized service providers and other circles of care and treatment providers to facilitate patient access and coordinate care.
  • Actively participate in Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic staff meetings, individual and group supervision sessions, and continuing education events/training.
  • Regularly report to the Director of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic on all assigned responsibilities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
