About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring a remote Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist for a PRN position. This role is part of the Psychiatric Emergency Response team (PERS) and will assess patients in Sentara Emergency Departments who present with behavioral/mental health concerns, providing recommendations for treatment. The schedule involves weekend night shifts, with a minimum requirement of 3 shifts per month. Additional hours may be available.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree – Social Work, Counseling, or other related field
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Excellent clinical skills, documentation, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of outpatient or inpatient experience
• Crisis experience highly desired

Responsibilities

• Assesses the social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial situation, as well as disposition needs, for each assigned patient.
• Collaborates with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community agencies to develop and implement plans to address identified needs.
• Evaluates effectiveness of developed plans and initiates change as needed.
