As a member of the health center’s integrated care team, the Lead Behavioral Health Consultant will fulfill key functions and responsibilities towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care. This role involves providing mental health and substance abuse assessments, delivering individual, family, and group short-term therapy, and utilizing evidence-based interventions. The position also includes managing patient crises, coordinating with the medical team, referring patients to community resources, and staying informed on developments in counseling and health. Additionally, the role involves leading workshops, providing leadership in integrated care team collaboration, meeting productivity targets, developing cultural competence, clinically supervising non-independent licensed staff, serving as a primary contact in the Director’s absence, assisting with new staff orientation, providing input on staff performance, coordinating staff meetings, overseeing interns, leading therapist onboarding and compliance, and leading behavioral health projects.
