About The Position

UPMC's Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist I to join their Adult Mood and Anxiety Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital Programs team in Oakland. This role is responsible for providing individual and group therapy, engaging families, educating patients on recovery, and creating comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse needs. The position involves same-day clinical documentation, case reviews with supervisors and the clinical team, and participation in treatment team meetings. Travel to the Wexford location may be required a couple days per week. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
  • Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code.
  • A copy of your graduate-level transcripts must be attached for consideration.
  • Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination.
  • Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Completes same-day clinical documentation and provides necessary information for service authorization.
  • Reviews cases and patient condition changes with the supervisor and clinical team.
  • Assesses and updates patient needs and treatment plans.
  • Conducts new patient assessments under supervision and implements treatment models.
  • Provides individual and group therapy, engages families, and educates patients on recovery.
  • Documents all patient interactions and case management activities.
  • Discusses additional service needs with the clinical team and makes referrals as needed.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings to review and update treatment plans.
  • Maintains daily clinical productivity records.
  • Creates comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse needs.
