About The Position

Magee has partnered with UPMC Western Behavioral Health, a nationally recognized leader in mental health clinical care, to provide high quality, evidence-based treatment, expertise, and support to individuals in the perinatal period. We are looking for a Behavioral Health Therapist to join the team! Magee Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health clinic, a part of Western Behavioral Health’s Adult Service Line of care. Our team includes clinicians providing individual and group therapy to patients who are pregnant, postpartum or have experienced a pregnancy/infant loss. We also offer medication management services with psychiatrists specialized in perinatal care. This is a hybrid position working both remote and in person.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code)
  • A COPY OF YOUR GRADUATE-LEVEL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION.
  • Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination.
  • Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Completes same-day clinical documentation and provides info for service authorization.
  • Reviews cases and serious patient condition changes with supervisor and team.
  • Assesses and updates treatment plans based on changing patient needs.
  • Conducts supervised assessments and applies treatment models in service delivery.
  • Provides individual and group therapy; engages families and educates patients on recovery.
  • Documents all clinical activities per guidelines.
  • Collaborates with clinical team on service needs and referrals to appropriate care levels.
  • Attends treatment team meetings to review cases and update plans.
  • Maintains daily records of clinical productivity.
  • Develops comprehensive treatment plans addressing diverse patient needs.
