About The Position
Sea Grove Recovery in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, provides substance use treatment for adults and dual-diagnosis treatment for adults with co-occurring mental health disorders. Its 41-bed facility offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP), with lodging available, in a wooded setting. The Behavioral Health Technician is an active member of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care and supervision for clients. The role includes managing the treatment milieu, recording observations for clinical staff, reinforcing coping strategies, assisting with daily living needs, and escorting or transporting clients when required.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1–3 years of related work experience is preferred.
- Eligible to become a Peer Counselor.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous patient care and supervision for all clients as an active part of the treatment team.
- Manage the milieu, including conducting rounds and accurately documenting behavioral progress, mood changes, incidents, and daily observations for clinical staff.
- Use approved de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
- Work with nurses, social workers, and other staff to reinforce coping strategies and provide guidance.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, hygiene, meal monitoring, and recreational or educational programs.
- Escort or transport clients to community activities, external appointments, or other agencies when required.
