About The Position

Behavioral Health Technicians provide one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent at home, school, and/or community setting when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting. This role involves working with a 1st-grade student in a school setting, with potential for additional hours in home and community settings. The technician will implement behavior modification treatment plans, utilize prescribed interventions for problematic behaviors, and model techniques for the treatment team and family members to promote appropriate behavior and facilitate service discharge. Collaboration with the treatment team and documentation of progress are key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to complete 40hr RBT Training prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years' experience providing behavioral health services (e.g., previous experience as a TSS/BHT with another agency)
  • Completed 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course.
  • Completed college coursework in mental health, child development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Works one-one-on with client(s)
  • Implements a behavior modification treatment plan targeting the recommendations from the psychological evaluation and developed by a senior level team member.
  • Utilizes prescribed interventions as needed when the child exhibits problematic behaviors in each particular setting.
  • Implements and models intervention techniques for members of the treatment team to stabilize the child or adolescent, lending support for family efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent, by transferring appropriate techniques and skills, and to promote developmentally and/or age-appropriate behavior.
  • Collaborates with all members of the treatment team and professionals working in the home or other community settings, including the family.
  • Documents behavioral and program data during session, from each environment; Maintains progress notes for every billable contact or per regulatory and program requirements.
  • Maintains contact with case specific treatment team.
  • Submits payroll weekly or as directed by supervisor; including all county specific paperwork required with weekly submission.
  • Receives scheduled supervision from an assigned clinical supervisor
  • Attends training as required; attains required training hours per fiscal year.
  • May perform other related duties, when required or assigned.
