A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Renew360° will provide direct patient care and support to individuals with substance use and mental health challenges within a residential or detox facility. The core responsibilities include monitoring client behavior, assisting with daily routines, ensuring a safe environment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if required for transport duties).
  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health, substance abuse, or mental health setting.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of addiction and mental health issues

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, compassionate care and support to clients in a therapeutic environment.
  • Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and physical condition, conducting regular wellness and safety checks.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities (e.g., hygiene, meals) and encourage participation in the program.
  • Oversee medication self-administration/monitoring and conduct necessary urinary analyses.
  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans developed by licensed professionals.
  • Facilitate group sessions and milieu activities such as community meetings, life skills, and psychoeducation.
  • Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Utilize behavior modification and motivational interviewing skills to teach desirable behaviors.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, observations, and incident reports in an electronic medical record system.
  • Assist with intake/admission and discharge processes, including client orientation and inventory of personal belongings.
  • Drive clients in company vehicles to appointments or community activities as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical staff, nurses, doctors, and therapists to develop and adjust treatment plans.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training sessions.
