A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Renew360° will provide direct patient care and support to individuals with substance use and mental health challenges within a residential or detox facility. The core responsibilities include monitoring client behavior, assisting with daily routines, ensuring a safe environment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if required for transport duties).
CPR/First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health, substance abuse, or mental health setting.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Knowledge of addiction and mental health issues

Responsibilities

Provide direct, compassionate care and support to clients in a therapeutic environment.
Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and physical condition, conducting regular wellness and safety checks.
Assist clients with daily living activities (e.g., hygiene, meals) and encourage participation in the program.
Oversee medication self-administration/monitoring and conduct necessary urinary analyses.
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans developed by licensed professionals.
Facilitate group sessions and milieu activities such as community meetings, life skills, and psychoeducation.
Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Utilize behavior modification and motivational interviewing skills to teach desirable behaviors.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, observations, and incident reports in an electronic medical record system.
Assist with intake/admission and discharge processes, including client orientation and inventory of personal belongings.
Drive clients in company vehicles to appointments or community activities as needed.
Collaborate effectively with clinical staff, nurses, doctors, and therapists to develop and adjust treatment plans.
Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training sessions.
