About The Position

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a full-time night-shift Behavioral Health Technician for its 12-bed Behavioral Health Unit. The unit provides care for individuals experiencing behavioral health and mental health challenges. The multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to promote patient safety, stabilization, and recovery in a therapeutic environment. Staffing includes one nurse and one Behavioral Health Technician for up to eight patients on day and night shifts; when the census reaches 9–12 patients, an additional nurse or technician is added.

The Behavioral Health Technician provides compassionate, patient-centered support, including assistance with daily living, direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions. The role also involves observing and recording patient behavior and activities, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff, suggesting treatment-plan modifications, and providing crisis intervention to help maintain safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days of hire.
• Handle with Care (HWC) certification required within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
• Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
• Provide crisis intervention for incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
