Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Sociology
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach to patient care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a behavioral health or mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to patients during various aspects of treatment, including activities of daily living, therapeutic exercises, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment interventions. Report any significant changes or concerns to the clinical team promptly.
  • Facilitate skills group, following a curriculum and documenting notes on client behaviors.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating crisis situations effectively and safely. Implement appropriate crisis intervention techniques as trained and directed by clinical supervisors.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities and interventions designed to promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills development.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and coping strategies to promote understanding and active participation in the recovery process.
  • Monitor the environment to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. Adhere to established protocols and procedures for maintaining a safe treatment environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of behavioral health and patient care.
