About The Position

As a Behavioral Health Tech, you will learn ways to adapt care and adjust treatment plans for patients’ evolving needs. Positive Outcomes is a comprehensive, hospital-based program specializing in treating teen-aged males, 13-17 years old, whose primary admission criteria is focused upon sexually inappropriate behavior and related problematic thinking and behaviors. Most have been victims of various types of abuse. Length of stay can vary from seven months to a year. Clients are expected to practice and internalize various offense-specific concepts and skills, as well as client-centered therapies. A program component book contains much of the program’s content. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in the behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education
  • No experience required
  • State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care and therapeutic interventions based on patient care assignments from RN.
  • Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.
  • Applies knowledge of group dynamics in participating in therapeutic groups and maintaining the milieu.
  • Monitors patients to ensure safety, including but not limited to rounding, environmental and safety checks.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
