About The Position

Devereux has an exciting opportunity to become a Behavioral Health Technician with our Pocono Center. This is an Independent Contractor position. As a BHT, you will provide services alongside other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for the implementation of behavioral intervention plans which are individualized to each child or adolescent, and to family needs. Services are not a substitution for primary care giver. They cannot baby sit, diaper, toilet, or transport our child. The BHT does not work alone with the child, but must be in the presence of the parent, teacher or primary care giver. Area of service includes: Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties in NEPA. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Located in Newfoundland, PA, this position is responsible for supporting children in the community as a part of our IBHS services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct services and support, in the child's home, school or community setting
  • Implements the interventions outlined in the treatment plan
  • Assists the child in developing age-appropriate behaviors and coping skills
  • Offers support and transfers appropriate interventions to the child or caregiver
  • Complete necessary data tracking
  • Attends weekly supervision
