About The Position

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Canyon Vista Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This role is vital in supporting patients' mental and emotional well-being within a 19-bed behavioral health unit, providing a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes healing, dignity, and hope. The position is full-time, with a schedule of 3x12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• CNA Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have within 45 days of hire
• Handle with Care (HWC) Must have within 45 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
• Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
