Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment prior to any patient contact.
  • Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment prior to any patient contact.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration.
  • Reviews staffing needs daily, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports.
  • Supervises Patient Sitters.
  • Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements.
  • In timely manner, informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
  • Determines, coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters.
  • Provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters.
  • Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
  • Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls.
  • Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
  • Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
  • Maintains assigned calendar(s).
  • Maintains files and office equipment.
  • Orders and stocks supplies.
  • Additional duties as assigned and needed.
