About The Position

This role is for a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) on an 81-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. The unit is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists, and Psychiatric Providers. The unit treats a variety of diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

Requirements

• Current state NA I license
• Completed NA course from an accredited school
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Accurately identifies patient needs

• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
