As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you'll work one-on-one with children and adolescents ages 2–21, helping them develop meaningful skills, build confidence, and achieve their individualized goals through evidence-based behavioral interventions. Requirements
- A bachelor's-level degree in a service-related field plus at least 1 year of full-time paid experience involving direct contact with children or adolescents.
- An associate-level degree or 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree, plus 1 year of full-time paid experience involving direct contact with children or adolescents.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a 40-hour RBT Task List training provided by a qualified BCBA or BC-ABA trainer, and 1 year of full-time paid experience involving direct contact with children or adolescents.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Appropriate background checks, transcripts of their degree, and clearances to work in direct contact with children and adolescents (ACT 33, 34 and FBI clearances)
- Able to participate in Medicaid and Medicare programs.
- Complete the NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry) Verification, as well as an active Mandated Reporting Certificate (Act 31).
Responsibilities
- Implementing individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans
- Working directly with children and adolescents ages 2–21
- Helping clients develop social, communication, life and adaptive skills
- Supporting clients in reaching their individualized treatment goals
- Providing services in homes, schools, daycares and community settings
- Collecting accurate behavioral and treatment data
- Building positive relationships with clients and their families
- Helping clients transfer newly learned skills into everyday situations
- Completing required daily documentation and weekly reporting
- Collaborating with Behavior Consultants and other members of the clinical team
- Participating in ongoing training and supervision to continuously strengthen your skills
