About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for its new inpatient detox and residential facility in Richmond, Virginia. The role manages daily residential operations, supports and trains the Behavioral Health Technician team, and helps maintain a warm, positive recovery environment. The position also involves ensuring that clients and staff follow Avenues policies and procedures and escalating concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.

Requirements

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, empathetic personality with the ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR certification.
• For applicants in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily residential operations, including intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, and medications.
• Train and support the Behavioral Health Technician team in operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale and maintain a warm, positive recovery environment.
• Ensure clients and Behavioral Health Technicians comply with Avenues rules, policies, and procedures.
