About The Position

Mountains Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Tech to join their team. In this role, you will exemplify the IRMC mission, vision, and values, providing quality care in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing patients' age-specific needs, providing direct patient care including monitoring conditions, taking vital signs, and observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under nursing supervision. You will also lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities, assist with teaching life skills, complete patient documentation, and help maintain a safe and secure unit environment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential for effective communication with patients and families, and for reporting concerning events. This position requires floating to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent. You will also be responsible for patient transports and delivery of supplies.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid PA driver’s license with no previous violation.
  • BLS required or attained within 1 month of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year in behavioral health preferred.
  • Previous work experience in health care preferred.
  • Psychiatric work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplifying the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and providing appropriate care as assigned.
  • Providing direct patient care including monitoring their conditions, taking vital signs, observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under the supervision of nursing.
  • Leading patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
  • Assist with teaching life skills.
  • Complete patient documentation.
  • Help to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and report any concerning events to members of the organization.
  • Will be required to float to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent.
  • Responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments (including the medical center) and for delivery of supplies to departments as necessary.
