About The Position

Reporting to the Shift Manager of the assigned area, the Clinical Services Technician (CST) performs duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse. Responsible for providing high quality individualized basic care activities within the Clinical Services Technician scope of practice. This individual ensures a safe, healthy environment that encourages socialization and empowerment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the needs, problems, attitudes and behavioral patterns of mentally disordered individuals and substance abusers.
• Knowledge of Mental Health programs and community resources.
• Behavioral health principles and methods of relating to individuals experiencing behavioral health problems.
• Verbal de-escalation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of mental health patient rights.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Behavioral management training defined as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate preferred.
• 6+ months related experience providing direct services for patients/clients in a mental health, substance abuse, or social service agency setting is preferred.
