About The Position

Make a meaningful impact by helping Broward County residents navigate emergency situations, including potential loss of electricity and other essential utilities. As a key support to Case Managers and clinical staff, you’ll contribute to efficient case processing and compassionate service delivery. This is Grand Funded position.

Requirements

  • Requires two (2) years experience working in a social service agency, social service or community program, or community support group, related to social services, including work experience with school board, government, hospital, general office, including six (6) months of clerical experience.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License at time of appointment and must be able to obtain and maintain authorization to drive on County business.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or higher related degree.
  • One (1) or more years' experience conducting intake interviews and assessments to determine eligibility for applicants for various benefits, including Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) benefits.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish, or English/Creole, or English/Portuguese

Responsibilities

  • Assist Caseworkers, Coordinators, and clinical staff with daily program participant–related activities.
  • Prepare and maintain case activity notes, monthly reports, and other case management documentation.
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files; conduct file reviews and participate in data collection efforts such as surveys and questionnaires.
  • Conduct assessments, and customer screenings to determine eligibility for agency services and various benefits.
  • Enter collected data into agency systems and ensure timely processing of required paperwork.
  • Review client files for completeness and prepare payment packets for supervisory approval.
  • Process emergency payments related to rent, utilities, and other critical services.
  • Conduct field visits as needed to support case management and client outreach.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including filing, scanning, front desk coverage, and responding to client and agency inquiries.
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support efficient program operations.
