About The Position

In our Children and Family Services department, we provide a continuum of behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and their families that include assessment, treatment, referral and school-based prevention and referrals. All services are family focused and are provided in the office, schools, home or other community settings. As a Behavioral Health School Based Coach, you will provide strength based, positive behavior strategies and wellness coaching for students in the schools. Serving as a member of our Prevention/SAP Liaison program, the Behavioral Health School Based Coach position is designed to: Provide strength-based behavioral health and wellness coaching to students, families, and school staff within assigned school settings. Support students in developing and utilizing coping skills and positive behavior strategies to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes. Respond to and support students demonstrating concerning behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques and collaborating with school staff to ensure safety. Participate in student case conferences and collaborate with caregivers, school personnel, and treatment team members to support student success. Assist in the development and implementation of behavior support plans, positive reinforcement strategies, and evidence-based interventions. Connect students and families to community resources and services, while maintaining timely documentation, outcome tracking, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a social services field (i.e. social work, psychology, counseling, drug and alcohol addiction, education) AND 2 years or more experience working in a school or in higher level of care (i.e., family based, wraparound, RTF, inpatient, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Current valid PA Class I driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle required.
  • Act 33, 168 and 34 clearances, Department of Education Fingerprints and Department of Public Welfare Fingerprints both required.
