About The Position

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is seeking a New York-licensed Registered Nurse for a steady, on-site assignment at Wayne County’s outpatient mental and behavioral health clinic in Lyons, New York. The nurse works alongside psychiatric prescribers, therapists, and care managers to provide psychiatric nursing care, including medication management, long-acting injectable administration, health and side-effect monitoring, and patient education. The assignment is Monday through Friday, five 7.5-hour days (37.5 hours per week), with no overnights, weekends, or holidays. Some shifts may extend past 5:00 PM when the clinic is open late, no more than twice a week. This is a W-2 hourly, per diem contract assignment paying $52.00–$58.00 per hour, based on experience and skills. Pay is weekly, and orientation is paid at the nurse’s rate. Pre-authorized overtime is paid at time and a half. A confirmed clinic cancellation made two hours or less before the shift starts is paid for four hours. The position also includes reimbursement for New York license renewal and CPR renewal, support for continuing education and certifications, and up to $1,500 per year in tuition assistance toward a BSN. A $500 referral bonus is offered for referring a nurse or aide who joins the roster. Paid sick leave accrues under New York law, and CLFC provides professional liability coverage for every shift. Fingerprinting, immunizations, screening, and license verification are arranged and paid by CLFC. Program terms are provided in writing before acceptance. Scheduling is managed through the BRIDGE App, where the nurse can review confirmed schedules and accept or decline added or changed hours. The app also stores license and certification information and sends expiration reminders. A Program Manager is available to help with scheduling and pay questions. CLFC staffs healthcare roles for government clients and considers nurses on its roster for new assignments.

Requirements

Hold a current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Hold current BLS (CPR) certification.
Have at least one year of recent RN experience that includes psychiatric, behavioral health, or substance use treatment.
Be able to complete the New York State Department of Health Criminal History Record Check and a drug screen.
Be current on the clinic’s required immunizations.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of psychiatric nursing experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Experience administering long-acting injectable medications and conducting metabolic monitoring.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing certification (PMH-BC).

Responsibilities

Administer and document oral and injectable psychiatric medications, including long-acting injectables, and support medication management.
Monitor vital signs, metabolic screening, and medication side effects, and keep the prescriber informed.
Educate patients and families about medications and treatment plans.
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and care managers.
Document care in the clinic’s electronic health record.
Respond to clinical emergencies according to clinic protocol.
