Behavioral Health/Psych Registered Nurse
About The Position
Join a beautiful, brand-new Acute Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital in Northeastern Pennsylvania, located in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre metro area near ski resorts and just 40 miles from the NY/NJ border. This facility serves an Adult through Geriatric population and will soon be opening an Adolescent unit. They specialize in Mental Health, Behavioral Disorders, and Substance Abuse & Addiction treatment. The staffing ratio is approximately 1:20 (based on acuity). Documentation is primarily done through Epic, with paper charting for restraints. A medication system called Omnicell is used, and there is an onsite pharmacy open 24/7.
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania RN License at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent Behavioral Health/Psych experience
- Experience working with patient restraints required
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting.
- Administer medications using the Omnicell system.
- Document patient care, including charting for restraints.
- Participate in de-escalation training.
- Work nights and weekends/holidays as assigned.
