About The Position

The Lead Pedi/OB Behavioral Health Clinician is a core member of a collaborative care team that includes patients and, when appropriate, their families, primary care providers, nursing staff, and community health workers. The clinician provides urgent consultation and assessment, biopsychosocial evaluations, support and linkage services, advocacy, education, brief interventions, counseling, and information to support adequate health care, improve access to services, promote physical and psychological well-being, and facilitate patient self-care. Patients are referred by BNHC medical providers because of high-risk medical diagnoses, frequent emergency-room use, or behavioral health, social, or environmental concerns that affect their overall health. The position provides culturally sensitive behavioral health services to pediatric and OB/GYN patients, including assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, brief interventions, care coordination, and connections to internal and community resources. It also contributes to clinical and administrative treatment teams, program support, documentation, and outcome measurement. The clinician may supervise other Behavioral Health staff when appropriate.
