Hello, we're Reno-Sparks Indian Colony The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the Numu (Northern Paiute), Newe (Western Shoshone), and Washeshu (Washoe). Day to day as a Behavioral Health Medical Scheduler In the Full-Time Behavioral Health Medical Scheduler position at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you will work under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Manager, taking on crucial responsibilities that contribute to the smooth operation of our Medical Division. Your role will involve warmly greeting all visitors, including clients, vendors, and patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. You will efficiently handle incoming and outgoing mail and expertly manage all telephone communications. Additionally, you will utilize the clinical scheduling package of our electronic health record system to organize appointments for patients, streamlining access to vital behavioral health services. What we're looking for in a Behavioral Health Medical Scheduler To excel as a Full-Time Behavioral Health Medical Scheduler at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, candidates should possess a diverse skill set that emphasizes outstanding customer service and effective communication. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, with preference given to those with previous experience in a professional environment. Familiarity with office equipment such as copiers, computers, scanners, and fax machines is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic email functions. Candidates should be able to type at least 45 words per minute and maintain strict confidentiality for all patients. Additionally, the ability to communicate patiently and compassionately with elderly and indigenous persons is crucial. Strong organizational skills will be vital for scheduling appointments accurately and directing incoming calls to the appropriate staff. Finally, candidates must be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and meet health requirements upon hire. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Responsible for providing outstanding customer service to the general public who come to the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center. The objective is to ensure that all functions of the RSTHC Behavioral Health Division front desk are properly conducted in accordance with established policy and procedure. Performs receptionist for all incoming telephone calls directing all phone calls to the appropriate staff. Attend necessary meetings as required by the Health Center. Responsible for scheduling patients to be seen by the Behavioral Health Division. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor such as filling-in other RSTHC Divisions that may have temporary vacancies in Scheduling or Receptionist functions. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. prefer experience with office equipment such as copiers, computer, scanner, fax, electronic postage meter. ability to type at least 45 W.P.M. and ability to use Microsoft Word and E-mail programs. must maintain confidentiality for all patients within the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center. must have outstanding customer service skills and be able to communicate and be patient with the elderly and indigenous persons. prefer previous experience working in a professional environment. ability to communicate effectively (written and orally). must have received a recent Tuberculosis skin test and/or receive one upon hire. obtain First Aide/CPR certification with the first year of employment.
