About The Position

A compassionate, detail-oriented Psychologist or Psychiatrist performs one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans. The role focuses strictly on clear, objective clinical evaluations; it does not involve treatment, prescribing medication, ongoing treatment, or patient care management. The examiner reviews pertinent medical history and service records, conducts the examination, and electronically documents findings in the required VA forms and medical opinions through a web-based examination form and electronic medical records system. Completed examinations are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations. The examiner does not make disability determinations; the U.S. Veterans Administration makes them. The position is based in Beckley, West Virginia, with a stated hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days of telehealth, although the description also characterizes the role as in-person and says telehealth opportunities may be offered as needed. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no nights, weekends, or on-call duties. Starting pay is $500 per day or $62.50 per hour based on an eight-hour day.
