About The Position

Persons in this position will be responsible for the group and individual counseling, treatment plan, and therapeutic goals of adolescents enrolled in the program. This role involves delivering individual and group counseling, case management, education, and community outreach services. It also includes overseeing client intake and program orientation, assessing psychological and social functioning, and developing and implementing Individual Treatment Plans. The position requires participation in facilitating ancillary services, maintaining client treatment files, general client supervision, preparing progress reports, and interacting with the criminal justice system or referral sources. The role also requires embracing and embodying the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation.

Requirements

  • Must be certified as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor
  • Must have two (2) years of experience providing direct substance use counseling services in an outpatient setting
  • Must have experience in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Individual must be a team player
  • Individual must pay attention to detail
  • Individual must have a collaborative nature
  • Willing to travel

  • Master’s level counselors (required by A-CRA)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and group counseling services
  • Provide case management services
  • Provide education and community outreach services
  • Provide referrals to appropriate services and community resources
  • Oversee and provide intake and program orientation for the client and family members
  • Assessment of psychological and social functioning
  • Development, implementation, and ongoing review of the clients’ Individual Treatment Plans
  • Participation in facilitating ancillary services, i.e. family support groups, family education groups, continuing care, networking with community agencies, developing and updating referral and resource information
  • Maintenance of individual client treatment files in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including documentation of vocalization/ educational activities as well as all other pertinent documentation
  • General client's supervision including planning and scheduling therapeutic activities
  • Preparation of client progress reports, when necessary
  • Interaction with the criminal justice system and/or referral sources, when necessary
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
