About The Position

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Typhoon Halong Response Team Behavioral Health Consultant is responsible for the coordination, delivery, and documentation of direct services to displaced individuals and families residing in non-congregate shelter sites and other locations across Southcentral Foundations service area. This position works as part of a collaborative response team to assess customer needs, connect individuals to appropriate resources, and support stability and well-being during the recovery period. They serve as a consistent point of contact for customers while maintaining strong partnerships with community partners and internal SCF departments. This role is a temporary work assignment. The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Behavioral Health Consultant is responsible for working with customer-owners who self-refer or are referred by a provider to recognize and address psychological symptoms and conditions using the bio-psychosocial model. This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health field including Counseling, Psychology or Social Work; OR PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Obtain Alaska Clinical Licensure in designated field within Four (4) years of hire.
  • Two (2) years of supervised clinical work experience for Master’s level behavioral health; OR two (2) years of post-graduate clinical experience for PhD or PsyD level; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Behavioral Health Consultant I at SCF (for Behavioral Health Consultant II).
  • Current Alaska Clinical Licensure in designated field (for Behavioral Health Consultant II).
  • Thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian population within SCF’s geographical service area.
  • Compliance with Employee Health Procedure, including job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to the first day of employment.
  • Documentation of completed immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 vaccination) prior to the first day of employment for Health Care Personnel (HCP) positions.
