About The Position

Join our team as a Part-Time Behavioral Health Consultant at Yakima Medical-Dental Clinic in Yakima, WA! As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will work side‑by‑side with primary care providers to support patients’ behavioral, emotional, and chronic health needs through short‑term, high‑impact interventions. Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology (for Clinical Psychologist role)
  • Licensed Psychologist within the state of practice (for Clinical Psychologist role)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family or related field (for Master's-level therapist role)
  • Two years of postgraduate/master’s experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance; such experience must have been gained under the supervision of a mental health professional. Washington State designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) may be substituted for this experience requirement. (for Master's-level therapist role)
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at time of hire (for Master's-level therapist role)

Nice To Haves

  • One year's clinical experience working within a multidisciplinary team in primary care or other medical settings, providing diagnostic and psychological assessments for primary care-based positions (for Clinical Psychologist role)
  • One year's clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in specialty behavioral health settings (for Clinical Psychologist role)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite behavioral health consultations within a primary care clinic setting
  • Respond to warm handoffs and maintain same‑day access for providers and patients
  • Deliver brief assessments and evidence‑based interventions
  • Consult with medical providers on behavioral health diagnoses and treatment strategies
  • Support chronic disease management through behavioral interventions
  • Participate in crisis triage and brief crisis interventions as needed
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team to support population health goals
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
