About The Position

Conduct mental health assessments and/or short-term therapy treatments for adults referred to the StanWorks program in collaboration with Stanislaus County - Community Services Agency (CSA).

Requirements

  • Completed Master’s degree in Counseling/ Psychology or Social Work.
  • Has current Associate or Licensed status with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Be a self-motivated individual; possessing the ability to initiate action.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, client families and the professional community.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize client issues and determine needs.
  • Ability to establish clear boundaries in a diplomatic manner with clients and staff.
  • Ability to be open to feedback from clinical and administrative supervisors.
  • Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques and trends in counseling and therapy.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Knowledge of DSM V Diagnostic Criteria.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record Systems Software; including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must adhere to Center for Human Services, Human Resources requirements, including: Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints. Pass agency paid TB (Tuberculosis) screening. Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing, if required.
  • Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
  • Pass agency paid MVR clearance with no more than 2 points - if you are under the age of 25 our insurance company will not allow any points
  • Must adhere to Stanislaus County Community Services Agency, Human Resources requirements, including: Community Services Information Technology Security Policy Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance processed through County Pass a criminal background clearance California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) requirements. Pass all requirements to gain access and work in program specific buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with designated contract staff, community site, and with colleagues.
  • Conduct assessments for adult clients referred to the StanWorks program and those in Managed Care as needed.
  • Consult with treatment team as appropriate regarding client’s care.
  • Advise and refer assigned adults to available and appropriate community and county resources.
  • Complete necessary client case documentation in the EHR (assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, etc.)
  • Provide mental health assessments and short-term therapy to align with program goals.
  • Submit the necessary charting, reports and statistical information necessary for each case plan to the assigned Case Manager for reporting purposes.
  • Attendance at individual and group supervision as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Represent the agency in a professional and competent manner.
  • Advocate for the best interests of the agency and clients we serve.

  • Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor. This includes serving as an agency representative at assigned community meetings.

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Participates in and/or supports agency fund development activities and events.
  • Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner.
