About The Position

The Eating Disorder Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy to patients diagnosed with eating disorders (e.g., Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID) within a multidisciplinary team framework. The clinician collaborates closely with medical staff, dietitians, and other behavioral health providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address both the psychological and medical complexities of eating disorders.

Requirements

  • Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments
  • Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy (e.g., CBT-E, DBT, FBT/Maudsley Approach)
  • Develop treatment plans with clear problem statements, treatment goals, and measurable objectives
  • Engage families and caregivers in treatment planning and psychoeducation
  • Collaborate with dietitians, psychiatrists, medical providers, and nursing staff
  • Complete required documentation and charting of patient encounters
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities
  • Meet with supervisor for clinical supervision
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Advocate for patients and assist them in accessing community resources
  • Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of eating disorders.
  • Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy (e.g., CBT-E, DBT, FBT/Maudsley Approach).
  • Along with patient, develop treatment plans for patient, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of eating disorder concerns.
  • Engages families and caregivers in treatment planning and psychoeducation.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, psychiatrists, medical providers, and nursing staff to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
  • Completes required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of eating disorders.
  • Meets with supervisor for clinical supervision, participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns and planning.
  • Advocates for patients and assist them in accessing community resources.
  • Completes all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
