Behavioral Health Clinician (LSW) - Full Time - Days - Shift/Hours Varies with 1-2 evenings- Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center, NJ
About The Position
At Atlantic Behavioral Health, we understand the critical role behavioral health plays in the overall healing process. We support patients dealing with mental health disorders, substance abuse, and the emotional challenges associated with injuries, surgeries, diseases, and other physical conditions. Our team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and licensed clinicians offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health services, including intensive outpatient programs. This role involves providing short-term psychotherapeutic services such as individual, marital, family, and group treatment.
Requirements
- LSW (Licensed Social Worker) credential
- Proficiency in conducting biopsychosocial assessments.
- Experience with evidenced-based screening tools and assessments.
- Ability to provide individual, group, and family counseling.
- Skill in developing treatment plans with measurable objectives.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for coordinating care with other professionals.
- Proficiency in documentation and charting patient encounters.
- Ability to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Ability to advocate for patients and connect them with community resources.
- Willingness to complete mandatory trainings and competencies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
- Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments.
- Provides individual, group and family counseling for patients.
- Develop treatment plans for patients, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate care.
- Completes required documentation and charting of patient encounters in a timely manner.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
- Meets with supervisor for clinical supervision, participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, concerns and planning.
- Advocates for patients and assist them in accessing community resources.
- Completes all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
