About The Position
The Behavioral Health Charge RN II provides professional nursing care and serves in the Charge Nurse role at Texas Health Springwood. The nurse responds to patients’ safety, physical, psychological, and social needs; honors each person’s worth; and engages families and caregivers in care situations. The nurse creates a healing environment that supports privacy, safety, confidentiality, and tranquility. The Charge Nurse communicates and collaborates with members of the health care team, supports and participates in shared governance and councils, and applies conflict-management, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills. The role emphasizes teamwork, respect, collaboration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is a PRN, as-needed position in the Behavioral Health Department at Texas Health Springwood, located at 1600 Hospital Parkway, Texas 76022.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
- At least 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
- Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ACPI) required within 30 days and maintained annually.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred.
