About The Position

The Behavioral Health and Disabilities Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that children in the program receive appropriate services related to their behavioral health and any disabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, special needs, and available resources. The coordinator will also ensure compliance with Head Start performance standards and utilize computer skills for various tasks. The position is full-time and located in Waterbury, CT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an early childhood setting
  • Thorough understanding of early childhood development, special needs and services/resources available
  • Knowledge of Head Start performance standards
  • Solid computer skills
  • Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid
  • Ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances
  • Ability to function within guidelines of Agency’s core values
  • Identification with Agency mission
  • Ability to build consensus and motivate employees
