About The Position

This is professional program work assisting the Office of Behavioral Health in analyzing, coordinating, managing and implementing best practices in Pennsylvania’s courts to improve outcomes for people facing behavioral health challenges. The role’s primary focus is the support and education of seven judicially-led Behavioral Health Regional Councils that comprise Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. Responsibilities include professional-level program research and writing, qualitative analysis, developing and coordinating professional education, supporting a statewide communications plan, and data collection/dissemination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years’ experience with the development, evaluation, and implementation of programs related to behavioral health or the courts.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and 365).

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of additional communication software programs helpful, including MailChimp, Survey Monkey, and Canva.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and planning skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in qualitative data analysis (interview, writing, and qualitative coding skills) and/or quantitative data analysis (use of Excel, R, Stata, Python) is a plus.
  • Up to 2 telework days per week are available after a training period

Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, and disseminates data and information regarding best practices at the intersections of behavioral health and the courts.
  • Performs procedural and operational reviews of current practices and research into the behavioral health needs and continuums of care of justice-involved individuals and families in specific communities.
  • Collects and evaluates data related to quality of court programs and behavioral health services for these populations.
  • Develops and supports professional trainings to enhance deflection and diversion opportunities, early interventions, early identification, trauma-informed practices and procedures, specialty dockets, and improving continuums of care at the intersections of courts and behavioral health.
  • Creates and modifies newsletters, educational & training materials, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Provides assistance and support to county action teams, behavioral health regional councils, the statewide executive committee, and statewide and community partners in crafting solutions to local needs through research into best practices and problem-solving efforts.
  • Works closely with Behavioral Health Administrator and administrative teammates to ensure prompt internal and external communication and advance planning of all remote and in-person events.
  • Facilitates and supports state, regional, and local leadership committee meetings, trainings, webinars, networking opportunities, and events throughout the state, using both in-person and online modalities.
  • Collaborates with industry professionals to keep abreast of current issues, trends and best practices through research, outreach, and site visits.
  • Maintains efficient, personable, and flexible communication with a variety of roles over email, telephone, video conference and in-person meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with county leaders, court staff, and system partners.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding requests for support and the office’s current activities and operations.
  • Assists in interactions with judicial leadership and state partners.
