About The Position

The Behavioral Aide II (1:1) position involves providing instructional and behavioral support to students in a school or treatment setting. This role requires implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), assisting teachers, and intervening in crisis situations. The aide will also supervise students during various activities, model Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies, and record daily data on student progress and behavior. Effective communication with supervisors and agency staff is essential. This position may require travel to different locations within a 30-mile radius and involves a 6.5-hour shift between Monday-Friday 6AM-4:30PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in a school or treatment setting, working with students needing learning, social, emotional, or behavioral assistance.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required.
  • Proficient with standard software applications and the internet.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliability, dependability, and flexibility are crucial.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree required for BA III.
  • Pro-ACT, CPI intervention training, and/or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with providing instructional support in content areas as well as implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Provide instructional support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Report to different locations under 30 miles one-way within the assigned region (if applicable).
  • Availability to work approximately a 6.5 hour shift between the hours of Monday-Friday 6AM-4:30PM (varies based on assignment).
  • Respond to emergency situations (e.g., fights, seizures) and intervene using Pro-ACT and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) methods.
  • Monitor and assist students during class breaks, meals, transportation, and bathroom use.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate activities like athletics, crafts, and off-campus trips.
  • Demonstrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to increase or decrease targeted behaviors.
  • Record daily data on student behavior, skills progression, incidents, and learning objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and agency staff regarding student status and any potential issues.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher as needed, ensuring continuity of instruction.
