About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Behavioral Activity Tech to join our team of medical professionals in the Julia Tutwiler Correctional Facility in Wetumpka, Alabama. The Behavioral Activity Tech plays a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one (1) year experience in a behavioral health care environment.
• Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Effective time management skills.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.
• A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Log requests for offsite and diagnostic studies.
• Maintain mental health clinic logs and ensure that appointments are scheduled according to DOC protocols.
• Assist nurses and other staff in issuing and tracking minor medical equipment (e.g. heating pads.)
• Collect data from ER logs, segregation logs, etc. for monthly QI reporting.
• Coordinate the scheduling of on-site specialty appointments (e.g. X-ray, physical therapy, medical-surgical subspecialties.)
• Answer telephone calls, take messages and make telephone calls as needed.
• Type correspondence, reports or memorandums, as needed.
• Maintains roster or appointment book based on scheduled appointments, both offsite and onsite, as needed
• Orders, receives and maintains office supplies
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
