About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Behavior Technician to join their team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a full-time, non-profit position focused on providing one-on-one support and assistance to assigned clients/students using evidence-based treatments like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The role involves direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings, with a focus on implementing individualized treatment plans and collecting data. The organization has been serving people for over 50 years and emphasizes a heart-centered approach.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) is required.
• Availability to work during operation hours of 7:30am – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Nice To Haves

• 3-6 months experience in the division of behavioral health services.
• Current Registered Behavior Technician certification
• Completed college coursework in mental health, child development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support and assistance to assigned client(s)/student(s).
• Support and assistance in the use of medical equipment and/or daily activities.
• Provide 1:1 direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Review and implement IEP or treatment plan.
• Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent/staff correspondence and all required documentation.
• Provide behavioral interventions and physical interventions as needed.
• Accompany and assist clients(s)/student(s) with activities and daily living which may include assisting with toileting and grooming.
• Other duties as assigned.
