Child Autism Specialist - We Train You
About The Position
Centria is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work one-on-one with children with autism as Behavior Technicians. In this role, you will implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Using evidence-based techniques, you will teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. Comprehensive training is provided, and prior experience is not required. The role calls for patience, compassion, teamwork, and the ability to respond to children who may be unpredictable or confrontational. The work is physically active and involves frequent movement and, at times, carrying children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and their families.
Requirements
- Passion for helping children with autism.
- Patience, compassion, and ability to work well in a team.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and a tuberculosis test if one has not been completed within the last year.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and move in various positions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Behavioral Technician.
- Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
- Experience as a teacher’s aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
