About The Position

At Caravel Autism Health, we are seeking passionate individuals to join us as Behavior Technicians (BTs) and make a significant difference in the lives of children aged 2-14. In this role, you will utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to guide children through engaging, skill-building activities designed to foster growth and reduce challenging behaviors. This position is ideal for individuals with a natural inclination for caregiving, a passion for early childhood education, or an interest in supporting individuals with special needs. It also serves as an excellent stepping stone for those aspiring to careers in occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, behavior-based therapy, and other psychology specialties. Our center-based approach in Dubuque, IA, provides a supportive environment with readily available teammates and supervisory staff.

Requirements

18+ years old
High school diploma or GED
Strong work ethic
Comfortable playing with children
Full-time availability (Monday–Friday)
Occasional Saturday availability for make-up sessions

Nice To Haves

Passion or interest in preschool teaching
Experience as a teaching assistant
Experience in daycare
Background in early childhood education
Experience caring for individuals with special needs
Interest in advancing careers in occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, behavior-based therapy, and other psychology specialties.

Responsibilities

Help children achieve life-changing milestones.
Guide children through fun, skill-building activities that promote growth.
Reduce challenging behaviors using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Work with children aged 2-14 years old.
Provide support and connection with other teammates and supervisory staff onsite.
