About The Position

Centria is seeking enthusiastic, Spanish-speaking Behavior Technicians to work one-on-one with children with autism. The position implements individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), using evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce interfering behaviors. Comprehensive training is provided, and prior experience is not required. The role can involve unpredictable or confrontational behavior from children and requires considerable movement and physical activity, including the ability to lift or carry children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be passionate about helping children with autism.
• Be patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Be bilingual in Spanish.
• Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Be able to obtain a tuberculosis test if one has not been completed within the last year.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Be able to move among positions such as sitting, squatting, and bending.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Behavior Technician.
• Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
• Experience as a Teacher’s Aid, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
