About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded in 2015 by BCBAs and LCSWs, with a decade of experience in providing in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. Our mission is to use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to support children in enhancing their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence.

Requirements

• Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
• Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required
• Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
• Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
• Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
• Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
• Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
• Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches
• Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
• Structured and creative play skills

Nice To Haves

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Responsibilities

• Work directly, one-on-one, with the child in their natural, home environment.
• Implement the individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) to help the student increase success in communication, focus, and positively adapting behaviors.
• Engage in rapport building and find creative solutions to help a student communicate their needs, wants, and feelings.
• Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
• Conduct goal-oriented, in-home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward systems.
• Provide thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
• Actively engage with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s).
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
