About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded ten years ago by dedicated BCBAs and LCSWs. We specialize in providing direct, in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. Our mission is to use the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to mentor and support these children, fostering improvements in their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence.

Requirements

  • Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required
  • Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
  • Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
  • Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
  • Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
  • Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches
  • Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
  • Structured and creative play skills

Responsibilities

  • Engage in rapport building and find creative solutions to help a student communicate their needs, wants, and feelings more effectively.
  • Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Provide goal-oriented, in-home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward systems.
  • Complete thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
  • Actively engage with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s).
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
