As a Behavior Technician, you will teach children with autism essential skills such as communication, socialization, self-care, and school readiness. You will experience significant milestones in a child's life, work closely with a multidisciplinary team, and become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with paid training and credentialing fees covered by FirstSteps.   • Believe that our children (and all children) are wonderfully unique and capable of communicating what is important to them and achieving their goals.
  • Completed Education: College enrollment or degree preferred. We will consider your application with proof of high school graduation and an interest in psychology / behavioral health / child development / mental health.
  • Graduate students in ABA may apply as Behavior Technicians and be eligible to receive clinical training and supervision hours toward BACB requirements, based on performance, role alignment, availability, and program needs.
  • Childhood vaccinations and non-reactive TB test.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit on floors and/or child-sized furniture, and quickly move from a seated position to running stance.

  • Have some "Kid" Experience: We look for "kid people" and related work, study, or volunteer experience demonstrating an interest in child development and commitment to the care and well-being of all children.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching children diagnosed with autism meaningful skills including communication, socialization, self-care, and school readiness.
  • Working closely with and learning from teachers, parents, FirstSteps BCBAs, and behavioral health/mental health specialists.
  • Becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through paid training and credentialing.
