About The Position

The Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) will work with students at the Brandywine School who exhibit frequent challenging behaviors in a school setting. This role involves providing behavior management support, implementing interventions developed by a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), transferring skills to individuals in their natural environment, and assisting teachers with student behavior management in the classroom. The Brandywine School is located on Devereux's main campus in West Chester, PA, and offers a multi-sensory educational strategy to individualize student progress across all academic areas, with a focus on transitioning from school to career. Devereux's approved private schools provide innovative special education programs in conjunction with families and school districts to equip students with the tools needed for success upon returning to their local schools and communities. Students may attend as day students or as part of residential treatment, with each student having an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) to outline goals and strategies for development.

Requirements

Registered Behavior Technician certification or RBT eligible; required.
At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with behavior challenges preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred.
