Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Some college education and or in the field experience.
  • Must have a minimum of three years supervisory experience in social work, child care, and/or support staff industry providing direct services to the elderly and or children/adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience providing behavioral tech support to adults of children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, Behavioral Disorders or Mental Health
  • Must have fingerprints and criminal clearance prior to starting.
  • Must have a driver's license and a vehicle to drive.
  • Must obtain Nursing Assistant - Registered (NAR) within 30 days of hire and then be Nurse Delegated for all clients where delegation is needed.
  • Certified in Crisis Prevention Institute within 120 days of hire.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire.
  • Communication - must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills by being respectful, responsive, and providing clear feedback and direction.
  • Follow through - demonstrated by completing requested tasks within given timelines, responding to emails, telephone calls, messages, and other communication platforms within 24-48 hours - sooner for emergent needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DDA policies, Client Rights and Responsibilities and Mandated Reporting and Incident Reporting
  • Solution-focused approach to issues, concerns, and program management
  • Time Management - demonstrated by consistently meeting deadlines and completing assigned tasks and weekly and monthly requirements.

  • Technology - working knowledge of Google Suite, and Microsoft; be able to adapt to changing technology.

Responsibilities

  • Observes clients on an individualized basis.
  • Develop Initial PBSP and updates as needs change.
  • Update PBSP for each client at time of yearly PCSP meeting.
  • Collects, organizes, analyzes and disseminates behavioral data.
  • Train direct staff to the PBSP and periodically (weekly) reviews behavior data to ensure direct staff are tracking properly.
  • Produces, reviews and modifies PBSP.
  • Provide training to our Residential staff on clients’ behavioral plans.
  • Attending all annual Person-Centered Service Plan (Assessments) meetings.
  • Ensure client Individual Instruction and Support Plan, Positive Behavior Support Plan, Refusal of Services Plans and Restrictive Procedure plans are written within required timelines.
  • Ensure plans are reviewed as policy dictates.
  • Complete Semi-Annual plan reviews with Program Supervisors to ensure client goals are being implemented and that progress is being documented.
  • Attends client care committee meetings.
  • Works with the Area Director to ensure compliance.
  • Works with stakeholders: teachers, guardians, caseworkers, medical specialists and direct staff.
  • Attends planning meetings to develop or modify plans.
  • Participates in the screening of referrals and initial intake assessment of potential clients.
  • Conducts fidelity evaluation to ensure behavioral support plans are being implemented and services are delivered as designed.
  • Works with the Area Director to create and provide training related to behavioral support to our Residential team.
  • Takes lead in investigations related to alleged allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of clients.
  • Maintains and promotes SAILS Behavioral and Organizational Philosophy, and policies and procedures.
  • Participates in client psychoactive medication review appointments as needed.
  • Creates and implements visual aids as needed for clients.
  • Reviews all incident reports related to behavioral episodes.
  • Provides progressive counseling to staff relating to their knowledge, implementation and progress of clients per their behavior and support plans.
  • Work in collaboration with other behavioral professionals, supervisors, case managers and client guardians
  • Provide one to one and group training for staff as needed and complete weekly review of data.
  • Enter behavior data into excel or other tracking software for annual and semi-annual reporting purposes.
  • Responsible for being Crisis On Call on a rotating basis and providing support to supervisors after work hours, this includes client emergencies, staffing emergencies and guardians - required response time is one hour for urgent needs.
  • Complete Quality Assurance checks at assigned programs utilizing MyFieldAudit.
  • Other duties as assigned.
