About The Position

This is a 10-month position open until filled. The role requires an individual who can develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward children demonstrating a high level of need and/or intensive behavioral/social/emotional support. The position involves learning and applying specialized evidenced-based behavioral strategies, making sound decisions, and problem-solving effectively. Flexibility and the ability to remain calm during challenging behaviors are crucial. The role also requires the ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks, and possess a basic understanding of data collection. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward children demonstrating a high level of need and/or intensive behavioral/social/emotional support.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Willing to be trained and learn specialized evidenced based behavioral strategies.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Strong ability to be flexible and remain calm when children demonstrate challenging behavior.
  • Strong ability to follow directions, carry out instructions and complete assigned tasks.
  • Basic understanding of data collection.
  • Strong ability to work independently and on teams.
  • Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is required.
  • Must be willing to participate in training designed specifically for the position.
  • Must be willing to be certified in Mandt Restraint and Seclusion and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
